Knittel MobileEnergie Continues to Rely on HecStar CRID Solution

Many medium-sized petrol station operators are faced with the challenge to reconcile their economic interests with their customers’ desires. Due to changing framework conditions it may become more difficult for classic shop petrol stations to operate successfully. Thus, the unmanned petrol station as a 24h-solution has become more common in Germany, but also in Europe. The easy and convenient operation of the fuel terminal and the flexibility of 24h-refuelling are persuasive.

The HecStar CRID solution meets the demands on a customer-friendly automatic petrol station in every respect. As a solution that is independent of fuel pump manufacturers the fuel terminal HecStar CRID is suitable as a variant that can be integrated into almost any MPD pump such as Gilbarco, Tokheim or Wayne. The CRID technology (Card Reader in Dispenser) ensures easy operation in daily use and allows the end customer to pay directly at the fuel pump. During operation the customer need not select the fuel pump, something that simplifies and accelerates the whole authorisation process. The authorisation directly at the terminal and the simple menu navigation guide the customer safely step by step so that the fueling process can be terminated fast and conveniently. The optional voice control further supports the customer during the authorisation process. Apart from debit and credit cards the terminal accepts a large number of fleet cards as payment options.

The comprehensive user-friendliness and highest safety standards of the HecStar CRID solution have also convinced Knittel MobileEnergie, the operator of a petrol station network. The company Knittel has existed since 1871 and has operated petrol stations since the 1950s. Since May 2017 there has been a cooperation between Hectronic and the fuel pump manufacturer Gilbarco in order to jointly implement an individual petrol station solution for Knittel MobileEnergie. Within the framework of this cooperation a total of 59 fuel terminals have been installed so far; 53 of them have been successfully equipped with the HecStar CRID solution including a 10“-touch display. Worth mentioning are also the additional functionalities which could be implemented for Knittel MobileEnergie. These include language assistance and a visual and acoustic operational aid for the refueling process. In spring 2019, all terminals were converted to PayTec with contactless payment module.
As a future-oriented payment option the contactless variant via RFID-transponder allows an even quicker processing of the refueling process for the end customer.
No more cumbersome search for cash or invonvenient insertion of debit, credit or fleet cards. Instead, the card is held a few centimetres from the reading device and the amount is debited directly.

“The decisive benefits of the HecStar CRID solution are the high reliability and the simplified user guidance for the end customer. We are pleased that we could convince Knittel MobileEnergie once again with our first-class products and solutions.” – Sven Janja, Head of Sales D A CH
