🏞️ Working where others hike - that applies to our Citea parking machine! In the middle of the wild and romantic Wutach Gorge, our Citea has been providing reliable parking space management for three years. With around 100,000 visitors a year, the Wutach Gorge is one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Black Forest. As not all visitors can arrive by public transport, efficient parking space management is necessary to avoid illegal parking and direct traffic flows in an environmentally friendly manner.

🚙 An official parking lot for around 120 vehicles was set up at the Wutachmühle near Ewattingen in 2021. Previously, there was often wild parking on the site. The current operating family usually turned a blind eye if people weren't parking in or in front of their own garage - which sometimes happened. Parking space management via a low-maintenance and user-friendly parking machine was therefore an obvious choice.

🅿️ This was and is of course a task for our Citea parking machine, which is produced just a few kilometers away in Bonndorf. The self-sufficient power supply via an external solar module and a stable connection to our CityLine cloud platform ensure smooth operation even in the middle of the countryside. A total of six tariffs for cars and motorhomes with different parking times ensure a great deal of flexibility and thus the necessary acceptance.

Operator Alexander Riester draws a positive balance: "The parking space created channels the traffic. Wild parking - whether in the forest, on the road or away from our parking areas - is now rare. Instead of trouble, we now have a reliable and profitable operation."

💳 📱  Payment is also as simple as possible. There is no need to frantically download parking apps - which is difficult without cell phone reception in the valley anyway - or count change. Although the Citea also accepts coins, half of users now opt for fast and contactless payment by bank card. Mobile wallets - which also work without cell phone reception if necessary - can also be used. So nothing stands in the way of a relaxed start to the hike.
