Role of Technology in Fuel Management

While the costs of fuel are skyrocketing, a few industries still have to spend massive amounts of captial on it. Since fuel is a resource that cannot be replaced, companies have no choice but to continue spending money to keep their operations intact. However, industries are looking for a solution that can help them save on fuel costs. The challenge is a lack of transparency in fuel expense and a lack of data to improve fuel economy.

Technology is emerging as a real game changer in all industrial spheres. It's undergone prodigious changes over the past few years and touched every aspect of industrial functions. Managing and monitoring fuel is no different. The advancement in technology has resulted in unprecedented techniques in Fuel Management, bringing 100% transparency and providing deep insights that can boost business growth and cost savings.

The Fuel Management System uses hardware and analytics software tools to capture the fuel receipts, distribution & consumption data and provide you with indicative information to improve fuel economy.

Each component in Fuel Management System plays a significant role in monitoring and managing every drop of fuel dispensed and consumed in the industry.

  1. AFT (Auto Fuel Terminal) – AFT is a main controller and heart of the system. Before fuel is dispensed into a vehicle or a storage tank, AFT authorizes by matching the vehicle or tank details, thus avoiding any unauthorized usage of fuel at the station.
  2. Flow Meter - A Flow Meter is used to measure the quantity of fuel transmission from point A to B. They have a digital visual display that gives an accurate reading of the fuel flow through them.
  3. Strainer or Air Eliminator - The Air Eliminator is present in the Flow Meters to identify any air pockets in fuel. This mechanism allows the release of air bubbles and makes way for the free fuel flow.
  4. Digital Control Valve - It is a multi-functional hydraulically operated control valve that gives you complete control over the fuel flow. It can be custom set as per the requirement to speed up the fuel dispensing process.
  5. Data Transfer Modem - All the data captured by the AFT is transferred to the software through the Data Transfer Modem, wirelessly.
  6. Petropoint: Designed to automate the fueling process, Petropoint helps clients get superior customer service, higher security, and better throughput
  7. HecPoll Software - HecPoll is an intelligent interface designed by Hectronic to display the captured data in the form of useful insights to the stakeholders in a readable format. The insights are provided through various graphical representations and reports. The dashboard is user-friendly and can be customized as per any business practice.

There are many other advanced technology components in the Hectronic Fuel Management System that can be integrated as per the customer requirements to improve fuel economy.

  1. Hectronic Fuel Management System can boost fuel economy by 2-3 percent and save a huge amount of fuel expense and manhours.
  2. Proper and timely supply of fuel for uninterrupted industry operations.
  3. Keep a check on fuel quality and avoid variations that can harm the fleet and equipment.
  4. Eliminate internal and external fuel fraud.
  5. Monitor and attend to unnoticed fuel leakage.
  6. Ease the complex and time-consuming fuel reporting.
  7. Access, monitor, and manage fuel consumption remotely.
  8. Finally, to automate and optimize fuel management and shift focus to more productive activities that can boost business growth.
